The Old School Rooms in Sutton on Hull are surely one of Hull's hidden gems when it comes to small venues such as this. Situated on the north side of the city, with easy access from both east and west, there are also good off-road parking facilities. Apart from the main hall, the venue includes a well appointed small dining room and kitchen, with wide serving hatch, admirably suited to hire for smaller interest groups, societies, etc, for their meetings. We already host a Tai-Chi group, a Craft Club, and the Sutton Branch of the Women's Institute. In the main hall, there is a projector screen, plenty of power points, and we regularly host 40-50 people for our own museum shows and events, usually on a weekday evening. If you haven't your own equipment, a computer and projectionist can be arranged to show your own presentation - if required - for a small fee. All you would then need is to bring your presentation on a memory stick, camera card, or other suitable removable media, formatted to use the Microsoft 'Windows' platforms.
Other occasions, such as small family occasions, eg: Golden Wedding parties, funeral teas, would find our homely facilities to be just what they need. The kitchen is suitable to do your own catering, or you can bring it in from outside caterers. We cannot accomodate 18th, 21st or children's parties, and we don't have a 'drinks license', but what we do offer would be ideal for many other groups and occasions. Of course, you can always pop by on a Friday lunchtime, 10am till 2pm, to check us out and see our facilities for yourself. The hiring fee is £15 per hour, arranged by and paid to the Church Office.
